Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium funding is additional to main school funding. Schools have the freedom to spend the Pupil Premium in a way they think will best support the raising of attainment. They also have the responsibility to report on Pupil Premium allocation, spend and impact.
There are a whole variety of ways in which Pupil Premium students are supported at Maiden Erlegh School:
They might receive:
- extra tuition in small groups or one to one
- specialist support for specific educational difficulties
- access to enrichment activities
- access to mentoring
- support from a counsellor
As a Trust, we have chosen to set aside some of this funding as a ‘hardship fund’. This is not a parent or young person’s pot of money, rather a fund that can be accessed upon request.
Please do not assume full funding will be approved. Should you require financial support, please request this support via the Pupil Premium Financial Support Request Microsoft Form. Your completed form will be reviewed, and a partial or full contribution may be offered. In some cases, funding may be declined. You will be notified of the outcome by one of the pupil premium support team or your child's Head of Year.
It is hoped that this process will give both parents and children a better understanding of what is available to them and will provide a point of contact in school for matters relating to Pupil Premium and financial hardship. We understand that for many people this is a very sensitive issue and this is uppermost in our minds when discussing the Pupil Premium. Students and their parents should rest assured that we will handle any discussions with discretion.
